EARTH HOUR CELEBRATIONS / GATHERING / CONNECT / CONCERTS IN COSTA RICA 2010!!
WHAT IS EARTH HOUR?:
Earth Hour is an event held THROUGHOUT THE WORLD on the last Saturday of March annually, asking households and businesses to turn off their non-essential lights and other electrical appliances for one hour to raise awareness towards the need to take action on climate change.
In '09 - 88 countries and more than 4,000 cities registered at -http://EarthHour.org
Earth Hour 2010 will take place on March 27, 2010 from 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm, local time.

7:30pm, a candlelight Concert starring Costa Rica's renowned musician, Manuel Obregon, Jaime Gamboa & Carlos Tapado Vargas as well as a circus-like show took place in Plaza la Democracia in Downtown San Jose.

WHEN: 7:30-10pm (the "official" lights out is only from 8:30-9:30pm but we'll have our power off the WHOLE 7:30-10pm)
WHERE: The House of Self Empowerment - ON Calle Vieja near Calle Country Club in Escazu (San Rafael)
FORMAT(ish):
POTLUCK: Bring any sort of food to share with 10 others & whatever you're drinking (these are not alcohol drinking crowds). We will provide Iced Tea & Water.
CONNECTION TIME: 7:00-8:30pm - We'll sit around in a circle eating & sharing/connecting! As is the case with most of our gatherings, there will be time for everyone to go around the room & share who you are, what you do &/or what you're looking for/needing as well share what YOU'RE doing/willing to do for Mother Earth (1-2 minutes each please) so PLEASE bring your business cards, products, fliers, give samples - whatEVER!! Let's come/work TOGETHER!!!
In the past some people have resisted this yet in the end, they LOVED LOVED LOVED IT & LOTS of REAL CONNECTIONS came from it!! (if you can't make it, feel free to drop your "stuff" off before!!)
8:30-9:30pm - Our friend Alba Molina http://am-int.com) - the WONDERFUL Singer/guitarist is back in CR from 2 years in the states, shared her wonderful gift of voice & lead our voices/hearts in song in a FUN sing-along (donations welcome) as well as the AWESOME Maia withhttp://samjjana.com brought her Hang to play - MAGICAL!!! It was a MAGICAL time (see video below).
The driveway was lined in Tiki Torches & the house was FILLED with a couple hundred candles since we had the power off the house the whole time!
Feel free to bring others (kids are welcome)!!!
