This video compilation footage is from Vietnam 1965-1966 - Marine's Squadron VMA224.

It was shared with me from Craig Booher - son of "Pete" Bruce Booher (who passed away last year).

Pete flew an A4 in this videos. In the video without sound he is shown standing by his plane and then it pans to the bombs on the plane and there is writing on them that says To VC from Cheryl and Craig. He also flew in a squadron VCMJ-3.

They lived in Whiting Field-Milton, Florida (Craig was born there Aug. '61 & my brother Billy was born there May '60 so I think we were there some part of the same time & that's how we met). He was stationed in Florida, North Carolina and El Toro. He was in Texas I think for the Naval Academy.

If anyone would like Craig to send them a cd copy of this, email him at - cmbisme04@yahoo.com

Anyone that sees this that new MY dad - Captain Wilbur "Bill" Skinner - died August 18, 1963 in a plane crash in France - my brothers Bill & JB & I LOVE to hear any stories you'd like to share & ESPECIALLY if you have any video footage or pictures. Email me (Vicki Skinner) at - SarongGoddess@gmail.com

If you have some other video to add here - send it via email (you might have to send it via Dropbox if it's too big).

(I'll add some info on my daddy once I get it from my brother Bill).

Family History of Capt. Wilbur Eugene Skinner
He first was drafted in 1953 & chose the U.S. Naval Cadet (NAVCAD) Program -- pilot training -- at the Naval Air Station in Pensacola, Florida.
After he completed flight school, he had the choice of remaining in the U.S. Navy as a pilot or transferring to the U.S. Marine Corps. He chose the Marines.
He served 18 months overseas in Japan around 1958 and 1959 and then was transferred to the Naval Air Station Whiting Field in Milton, Florida.
After some time, he was transferred to Beaufort Air Station, Beaufort, South Carolina.
During the Cuban Missile Crisis in October 1962, Billy and his air unit were stationed in Key West, Florida, only 90 miles from Cuba, ready to attack Cuba if the Russians didn’t withdraw their missiles from Cuba. Russia did remove their missiles, combat was averted, and Billy’s unit left Key West.

From Beaufort he was assigned to the U.S.S. Independence aircraft carrier (out of Norfolk, Virginia) in July 1963, and he was deployed to Europe. His last mission was from the deck of the U.S.S. Independencewhere he died in a fluke Air Traffic Controller error and fog - caused him to die from a plane crash.
