ITALIA - Vernazza, Cinque Terre, Liguria
VERNAZZA Italy has been one of my TOP SACRED SPACES on Earth (along with Monument Valley) but sadly on October 25, 2011, they were hit by a HORRIFIC FlashFlood/Mudslide when the side of a mountain collapsed & has taken out/engulfed the first 1-2 floors of this MAGICAL seaside village that I have visited 5 times & have such INCREDIBLE memories from. Structurally it looks like most building survived & that the damage (to the naked eye) is limited to the 1st floor so I KNOW these STRONG people WILL SURVIVE & in no time, Vernazza will be the MAGICAL village it was - where couples come from all over the world to get married & people come to create their OWN MAGICAL MEMORIES!!
VERNAZZA - a MAGICAL TINY (just 12 km2 / 4.6 sq mi with a population of 1,000 [the town is built up - in apartment-style buildings]) seaside Fishing Village is located in Cinque Terre (5 Lands) - which is made up of 5 villages that hug the side of the Ligurian Sea - between Piza & Genova/Genoa.
