When I decided I wanted to live abroad it was between San Pancho, Mexico (I had a business at the time in Puerto Vallarta, MX [though I did NOT live there] & it was an hour north of Vallarta), Costa Rica & Belize - specifically Caye Caulker. After having 4 hurricanes heading towards the Sarasota, Florida area that summer of decision (luckily for us all were diverted) & remembering hearing about Hurricane Hattie coming through in '61 - splitting the island in 2 with her 140mph winds - http://sanpedroscoop.com/.../gorgeous-day-stop-split-caye... - killing 307 people, damaging up to 70% of the buildings in Belize City and left 10,000 people homeless - causing so much damage that the capital city was relocated inland from Belize City to Belmopan - I decided - NOT!!! So I decided on Costa Rica because I just don't care to go through all those hurricane scares!! Tooo much negative energy/fear for where I'm at now!! I'm enjoying CR now & MAY (NOT firm so no rumor mills going yet please) even split my life between CR & Nicaragua (I JUST got to Matagalpa, NI for a month!!)!! Who knows what tomorrow will bring!!!
